Plot
Trial Period is a heartwarming comedy-drama centered around Ana (Genelia D'Souza), a single mother raising her young son, Romi, in Delhi. Romi longs for a father figure in his life, and in an attempt to fulfill his wish, Ana agrees to a rather unconventional idea — she hires a "trial father" for a period of one month. Enter Prajapati Dwivedi, or PD (Manav Kaul), a simple, kind-hearted man from Uttar Pradesh, who arrives to take on this unusual role. PD’s arrival brings a wave of humor, chaos, and unexpected warmth into Ana and Romi’s lives. While Ana initially sees the arrangement as a temporary solution, PD’s sincere efforts to connect with Romi start to win them both over. He bonds with the child in a way Ana never expected, becoming not just a stand-in father figure but a comforting presence in their lives. Over time, PD’s simplicity and genuine nature make Ana question her initial reluctance to open her heart. Trial Period is a light-hearted yet touching story about family, relationships, and the idea that love and connection can come from the most unexpected places.
