Plot

Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga is an adventure drama that tells the unique and thought-provoking story of Gangaram (played by Pankaj Tripathi), a humble village head in Pilibhit, a region bordering a tiger reserve. Facing the struggles of poverty and an unyielding environment, Gangaram’s village suffers from crop damage, wildlife encroachment, and a lack of government support. With his people desperate for aid, Gangaram hatches a risky plan inspired by a local tradition of human-animal conflict insurance: he decides to sacrifice himself by venturing into the jungle, hoping that his death by a tiger will secure government compensation for his family and the village. Determined to go through with his scheme, Gangaram enters the tiger reserve, but his journey takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Jim (Neeraj Kabi), a poacher who challenges his worldview. As they navigate the dangers of the jungle, Gangaram is forced to confront his beliefs, fears, and the true meaning of courage.
