Shamshera

Plot

Shamshera is set in the 1800s during the British Raj and follows the tale of Shamshera (Ranbir Kapoor), a fierce leader of the oppressed Khameran tribe, who rebels against the tyranny of British colonizers and their ruthless Indian ally, Shudh Singh (Sanjay Dutt). The Khameran tribe, known for their valor and warrior spirit, faces brutal oppression and enslavement under British rule, with Shudh Singh enforcing cruel measures to keep them subjugated. After a failed attempt to escape with his tribe, Shamshera sacrifices himself to save his people, becoming a martyr and a symbol of rebellion. Years later, his son Balli (also played by Kapoor) grows up unaware of his father’s legacy, but eventually learns of his father's sacrifice and the suffering of his people. Inspired by Shamshera’s courage, Balli takes up his father’s mantle and transforms into a warrior, determined to free his tribe and seek vengeance against Shudh Singh. Joined by his love interest, Sona (Vaani Kapoor), Balli fights not just for his people’s freedom but to fulfill his father’s legacy. Shamshera is a story of valor, sacrifice, and the relentless pursuit of justice against all odds.
