Plot

Liger: Saala Crossbreed (2022) is a sports action drama that follows the journey of Liger (Vijay Deverakonda), a passionate Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter with a stammering problem, who dreams of making it big in the world of combat sports. Raised by his fierce and determined mother, Balamani (Ramya Krishna), Liger is trained by a strict coach (Ronit Roy) to harness his potential and rise above his challenges. The film portrays Liger’s struggles with his speech impediment, societal prejudice, and personal insecurities, as he navigates a grueling path to success. Along the way, he falls in love with Tanya (Ananya Panday), a carefree and confident woman who helps him find emotional balance amidst his turbulent journey. However, their relationship faces obstacles as Liger’s ambitions clash with societal expectations. The narrative escalates as Liger earns a shot at competing on the international stage, culminating in an encounter with boxing legend Mark Anderson (played by Mike Tyson in a cameo). With thrilling fight sequences, emotional depth, and the theme of resilience, Liger captures the highs and lows of pursuing a dream against all odds.
