Plot

Dukaan is a 2024 Hindi-language comedy drama film written and directed by Siddharth Singh and Garima Wahal, and produced by S K Ahluwalia, Siddharth Singh, Garima Wahal, and Srujan Yarabolu under the banners of Waveband Productions and Kalamkaar Picture Productions. The film unfolds in a quaint small town where Monika Panwar plays Meera, a spirited young woman who inherits her late grandfather’s modest yet beloved local convenience store, Dukaan. The shop has been the heart of the community for decades, but Meera, burdened by modern challenges, faces the dilemma of either maintaining the traditional charm of Dukaan or transforming it to compete with contemporary businesses. Monali Thakur stars as Riya, Meera’s best friend, who provides comic relief and unwavering support as Meera navigates the hurdles of running the shop. Soham Majumdar plays Sameer, a charming but unconventional businessman who proposes to turn Dukaan into a chain of retail outlets, challenging Meera’s traditional values and creating romantic tension. As Meera struggles to balance her grandfather’s legacy with the demands of the present, she encounters a series of humorous and heartwarming situations. The film explores themes of tradition versus modernity, community spirit, and the personal growth that comes from facing one’s fears and aspirations.
