Vikram Aditya, a legendary figure in Indian history, is often associated with the ancient king Vikramaditya, who is believed to have reigned around 380-415 CE. He was born in Ujjain, India, to King Gandharvasena and is celebrated for his wisdom, valor, and generosity. His reign is marked by military conquests over various kingdoms, including the Shakas and Huns, and he is credited with establishing a fair justice system while promoting arts and literature through his court of scholars known as the "Nine Gems." Vikramaditya's legacy includes the initiation of the Vikrama Samvat calendar after defeating the Shakas in 57 BCE. His marriages to several princesses, including Madanalekha and Chandravati, further solidified his influence. The tales surrounding him, such as those found in *Vetala Panchavimshati* and *Singhasan Battisi*, have made him a revered figure in Indian folklore.
