Venkat Prabhu, born on November 7, 1975, is a prominent Indian film director, actor, and playback singer known for his contributions to Tamil cinema. He is married to Rajalakshmi, with whom he has a daughter named Shivani. Venkat Prabhu is the son of the acclaimed director and music director Gangai Amaran, and he has a rich family background in the film industry, being the brother of actor and music director Premgi Amaran and the nephew of the legendary music composer Ilaiyaraaja.
Venkat Prabhu's journey in the film industry began with aspirations of becoming a music director after studying at Trinity College of Music in London. However, he transitioned into acting, initially taking on character roles. His directorial debut came with the successful film Chennai 600028 in 2007, which showcased his unique storytelling style and garnered critical acclaim.
