V. Ravichandran was born on May 30, 1961 in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He is married to R. Sumathy and the couple has a daughter Geethanjali and two sons Manoranjan and Vikram.

V. Ravichandran, also known as Veeraswamy Ravichandran, is an Indian film actor, director, music director, lyricist, and editor who predominantly works in the Kannada film industry. He is often referred to as the "Show Man of Kannada cinema" for his multifaceted contributions to the industry. Ravichandran made his acting debut in 1982 with the film Khadeema Kallaru and later directed his first film Premaloka in 1987, which gained immense critical acclaim. Some of his notable acting works include Ranadheera (1988), Yuddha Kaanda (1989), Ramachaari (1991), Halli Meshtru (1992), and Yaare Neenu Cheluve (1998). He is known for his innovative filmmaking style, lavish productions, and superior technical aspects in his movies. Ravichandran has won numerous awards throughout his career, including the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Music Director for the film Ekangi.
