She comes from a Jat Sikh family; her father, Dilmohan Singh Pannu, is a retired real estate agent, and her mother, Nirmaljeet Kaur Pannu, is a homemaker. Taapsee has a younger sister named Shagun. She completed her schooling at Mata Jai Kaur Public School and earned a B.Tech in Computer Science from Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology.
