Tanushree Dutta was born on March 19, 1984, in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India, into a Bengali Hindu family. She is the daughter of Tapan Dutta, a former employee of the Life Insurance Corporation of India, and Shikha Dutta, a homemaker. Tanushree has one sibling, Ishita Dutta, who is also an actress. She completed her schooling at DBMS English School in Jamshedpur and later moved to Pune for higher education but dropped out of college to pursue modeling. In 2004, she won the Femina Miss India Universe title and represented India at the Miss Universe 2004 pageant in Ecuador, where she placed in the top ten. Dutta's relationship history includes dating filmmaker Aditya Datt. As of now, she remains unmarried and resides in the United States.
