Tanishaa Mukerji was born on March 3, 1978, in Mumbai, India. She comes from the prominent Mukherjee-Samarth family, being the daughter of filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee and veteran actress Tanuja. Tanishaa is also the younger sister of Bollywood star Kajol and sister-in-law to actor Ajay Devgn. She pursued her education at the University of New South Wales in Australia, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in communication and media studies. Tanishaa was previously in a relationship with Armaan Kohli, her co-contestant from Bigg Boss 7, but they parted ways in October 2014.
