Talat began his formal training under the guidance of Ustad Samad Khan and later trained under Ustad Fayaz Ahmed Khan.
Talat's career took off in the late 1970s when he performed at various prestigious concerts. His debut album, "Jagjit Singh Presents Talat Aziz," released in 1979, gained immense popularity. Known for his soulful voice and emotive renditions, Talat became a prominent figure in the ghazal genre during the 1980s and 1990s.
