He is known for his work in Tamil cinema and has won several awards, including the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Director and Best Storywriter.

 

Ganesan's biography is marked by his early career as a journalist and writer for the Tamil magazine Ananda Vikatan while studying at the Madras Institute of Technology. He later worked as an assistant to director Mani Ratnam before making his directorial debut with Virumbugiren.
