Seth completed her education at the Convent of Jesus and Mary in New Delhi and further pursued higher studies in home science and fine arts in the United States. She is married to businessman Dhruv Seth and has three children, including actress Divya Seth Shah. Sushma Seth has gained fame for portraying motherly and grandmotherly roles in various films and television series. Her notable performances include her role as Dadi in the iconic TV soap "Hum Log" (1984-1985) and a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Tawaif" (1985).
