Suriya, born as Saravanan Sivakumar on July 23, 1975, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is an acclaimed Indian actor, producer, and philanthropist. The son of veteran actor Sivakumar, Suriya initially pursued a career in the garment industry before venturing into acting. He made his acting debut in 1997 with the film "Nerrukku Ner". Suriya gained prominence through his roles in films like "Nandha" (2001), which marked his breakthrough, and "Kaakha Kaakha" (2003), where he played a gritty cop.
