Suraj Sharma was born on March 16, 1993, in New Delhi, India, into a Malayali family. His father, Gokul Churai, is a software engineer from Thalassery, Kerala, while his mother, Shailaja Sharma, is an economist from Palakkad, Kerala. Suraj attended Sardar Patel Vidyalaya for his schooling and later pursued philosophy at St. Stephen's College, Delhi University. He has a younger brother named Sriharsh and a younger sister named Dhruvatara. Suraj gained fame for his role as Piscine Molitor Patel (Pi) in the critically acclaimed film "Life of Pi" (2012), directed by Ang Lee. He was chosen from over 3,000 auditionees due to his expressive eyes and innocent demeanor. Following his debut, he received numerous accolades, including a BAFTA Rising Star nomination and several awards for his performance. As of now, Suraj Sharma is not publicly known to be married.
