Suhasini Maniratnam, born on August 15, 1961, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, is an acclaimed Indian actress, film director, producer, and screenwriter. She is the daughter of Charuhasan and Shanthidevi and has a notable family background in the film industry, being the niece of actor Kamal Haasan. Suhasini began her career in the early 1980s, making her debut in the Tamil film "Nenjathai Killadhe" (1980), which earned her the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress. She has since appeared in numerous films across various Indian languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Suhasini is married to renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam since 1988, and they have one son named Nandan. Throughout her career, she has received several prestigious awards, including the National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in "Sindhu Bhairavi" (1985) and multiple Filmfare Awards.
