Suhasini Joshi, known by her screen name Suhas Joshi, was born on July 12, 1947, in Thane, Maharashtra, India. She is a prominent Marathi theater, film, and television actress, recognized for her contributions to both Marathi and Hindi cinema. Joshi's passion for acting began during her college years, leading her to pursue a three-year diploma in acting from the National School of Drama in Delhi under the guidance of renowned theater director Ebrahim Alkazi. She made her acting debut in 1972 with the Marathi play "Barrister," directed by Vijaya Mehta. Throughout her career, she has performed in numerous acclaimed plays and films. Joshi is married to fellow theater artist Subhash Joshi and is a mother to two children, Sonali and Saket Joshi. She has received several awards for her work, including the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Acting in 2018 and the Filmfare Marathi Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.
