Ssanjay Tripaathy

Sanjay Tripathy is an Indian writer, director and producer who has made significant contributions to the Indian film and television industry. He holds a BSc. Hons degree from the University of Delhi and has worked in various capacities, including as a writer, director, and producer.

Tripathy began his career in television in 1996, producing and directing special news features on science, art and culture for Doordarshan prime time news. He later founded his own production company, Pulse Media Pvt Ltd., in 1998. Under this banner, he produced and directed India's most celebrated science show "Turning Point" for the National Television. In 2000, he produced and directed 3 shows for Zee TV's edutainment ventures Zed TV.

In 2006, Tripathy shifted to international TV channels and created top-rated shows for Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, BBC World, and various other international channels. He subsequently produced and directed various docu-drama films for some of the biggest corporate and government agencies in India.

Tripathy ventured into fiction and drama by producing and creatively supervising 200 odd episodes for a popular Marathi daily soap Antarpaat for Star Pravah (Star Network's Marathi Channel). He wrote and directed his first feature film "Club 60" in 2013-14, which received critical acclaim and won several awards.

In 2015, Tripathy wrote and created a highly acclaimed medical drama "Ek Nayee Umeed: Roshni" for Star TV, which was termed by critics as India's answer to Grey's Anatomy. From 2016 to the present, he has been creating, writing and directing various features.

Some of Tripathy's notable works include Vishwanathan Anand's biopic for Netflix, a short feature film "Mann Bairagi" on Prime Minister Modi's teenage life produced and presented by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Mahaveer Jain, and a heartwarming family film "Binny & Family" released in August 2024.
