Somy was raised in a culturally diverse family, with an Iraqi mother and a Pakistani father. She moved to Florida at the age of 12, where she pursued her education and later returned to India to follow her passion for acting. Somy gained fame for her relationships and roles in several Hindi films, particularly during her time with Salman Khan, which lasted about eight years. Following her acting career, she focused on social issues, establishing the non-profit organization No More Tears to combat domestic violence and human trafficking. Somy has also produced documentaries addressing critical social issues and has received various accolades for her humanitarian work.
