Shilpa Shinde was born on August 28, 1977, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She comes from a Marathi family; her father, Dr. Satyadeo Shinde, was a High Court judge, and her mother, Geeta Shinde, is a homemaker. Shilpa has two elder sisters and a younger brother. She pursued psychology in college but did not complete her degree. Shilpa began her acting career in 1999 with the television series "Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai," but it was her role as Koyal Narayan in "Chidiya Ghar" (2011) that gained her widespread recognition. Her most iconic character is Angoori Bhabhi in the sitcom "Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai!" (2015), which made her a household name. In 2017, she participated in "Bigg Boss 11," where she emerged as the winner, further boosting her popularity. Despite facing personal challenges, including a broken engagement with actor Romit Raj, Shilpa remains a prominent figure in Indian television. She joined the Indian National Congress Party in 2019 and has continued to engage in various projects, including participating in dance shows like "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" in 2022.
