Sandeep Maheshwari was born on September 28, 1980, in New Delhi, India. He is married to Neha Maheshwari, who was also his girlfriend before marriage. Sandeep comes from a middle-class family; his father, Roop Kishore Maheshwari, ran an aluminum business that eventually failed. This financial instability during his childhood shaped his determination to succeed. He has two children with Neha. Standing at a height of approximately 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm), Sandeep initially pursued a career in modeling at the age of 19 but faced significant challenges and exploitation in the industry. This experience motivated him to transition into photography and entrepreneurship.

Sandeep Maheshwari is best known as the founder and CEO of ImagesBazaar, which is the largest collection of Indian stock images globally. His entrepreneurial journey began after he dropped out of Kirori Mal College in Delhi during his final year of B.Com due to personal reasons. He faced numerous setbacks in his early ventures, including failed businesses and a lack of market success for his book on marketing. However, in 2003, he achieved a world record by photographing over 10,000 shots of 122 models in just under 11 hours. In 2006, he launched ImagesBazaar, which has since grown to serve over 7,000 clients across 45 countries and boasts more than a million images.
