Sameera Reddy was born on December 14, 1978, in Bombay (now Mumbai), Maharashtra, India. She hails from a Telugu-speaking family, with her father being a businessman and her mother, Nakshatra, a microbiologist who worked with an NGO. Sameera has two older sisters, Meghna and Sushama Reddy, both of whom are involved in the entertainment industry. She completed her schooling at Bombay Scottish School and graduated from Sydenham College. Reddy married entrepreneur Akshai Varde on January 21, 2014, in a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony. The couple has a son and a daughter. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her contributions to Indian cinema and has also engaged in philanthropic activities.
