Rupali Ganguly was born on April 5, 1977, in Kolkata, India, into a family deeply rooted in the film industry; her father is the notable director Anil Ganguly. She began her acting career at the young age of seven with a role in the film "Saaheb" and later appeared as a child artist in her father's film "Balidan." Rupali pursued her education in hotel management and theatre, which further honed her acting skills. She made her television debut in 2000 with the lead role in "Sukanya," followed by significant roles in series such as "Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi" and "Zindagi…Teri Meri Kahani." However, she gained widespread acclaim for her portrayal of Monisha Sarabhai in the sitcom "Sarabhai vs Sarabhai" (2004-2006) and later as Anupamaa Joshi in "Anupamaa" (2020-present).
