Rishab Shetty, also known as Prashanth Shetty, is an Indian actor, film director and producer who works primarily in Kannada cinema. Born in Mangaluru, Karnataka, he pursued a B.Com degree in Bengaluru while actively participating in theatre productions. After college, Shetty worked various jobs before acquiring a diploma in film direction and making his acting debut in 2012. He has since appeared in several critically acclaimed films like Ulidavaru Kandanthe, Bell Bottom and Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana. Shetty's breakthrough came in 2022 with the blockbuster Kantara, which he directed, wrote, produced and starred in as the lead. The film earned him widespread acclaim and multiple awards, including three National Film Awards. Shetty is known for his versatility, tackling diverse roles and genres with equal finesse. He continues to push creative boundaries in Kannada cinema.
