Ribhu Dasgupta was born in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He is a prominent Indian film and television director, known for his work in the Bollywood industry. Dasgupta made his directorial debut with the psychological thriller "Michael" in 2011, which garnered international attention by being featured at the Toronto International Film Festival and other prestigious festivals. He grew up in a film-oriented family; his father, Raja Dasgupta, and grandfather, Harisadhan Dasgupta, were both involved in filmmaking. Ribhu's brother, Birsa Dasgupta, is also a filmmaker. After moving to Mumbai in 2004, he worked as an assistant director under Anurag Kashyap. His notable works include the critically acclaimed film "Te3n" (2016) and the Netflix series "Bard of Blood" (2019).
