Renuka Shahane, born on October 7, 1966, in Mumbai, India, is a prominent Indian actress known for her extensive work in both Hindi and Marathi films as well as television. She comes from a Marathi family; her father, Lt. Cdr. Vijay Kumar Shahane, served in the Indian Navy, while her mother, Shanta Gokhale, is a noted theatre personality and film critic. Renuka completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St. Xavier's College and later pursued a postgraduate degree in Clinical Psychology from Mumbai University. She was first married to Vijay Kenkre, a theatre actor and director, but the marriage ended in divorce. In 2001, she married actor Ashutosh Rana (originally Ashutosh Neekhra), with whom she has two sons: Shauryaman and Satyendra Neekhra.
