Reema Sen was born on October 29, 1981, in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. She completed her schooling at St. Thomas Girls School in Kidderpore, Kolkata, before moving to Mumbai with her family. Reema began her career as a model, featuring in various advertising campaigns, which eventually led her to acting. She married businessman Shiv Karan Singh on March 11, 2012, and they have one son named Rudraveer, born on February 22, 2013. After a successful career in the film industry, Reema decided to retire from acting following her marriage.
