Reema Lagoo (1958-2017) was an acclaimed Indian actress known for her work in Hindi and Marathi cinema, as well as television. Born Nayan Bhadbhade in Mumbai, she was introduced to acting through her mother, Mandakini Bhadbhade, a well-known Marathi stage actress. Reema attended Huzurpaga School in Pune, where her acting skills began to flourish. She started her career in Marathi theater and gradually transitioned to films.
Reema Lagoo gained immense popularity for her roles as the quintessential mother in Bollywood films during the late 1980s and 1990s. Her portrayal of nurturing, supportive, and understanding mother figures resonated deeply with audiences.
