Ravi Baswani was an acclaimed Indian film actor, born on September 29, 1946, in New Delhi, India. He was known for his exceptional comic timing and memorable performances in various films. Baswani began his career in the early 1980s and gained fame for his roles in cult classics such as Chashme Buddoor (1981) and Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983), the latter earning him the Filmfare Best Comedian Award in 1984. Throughout his career, which spanned nearly three decades, he appeared in approximately 30 films and several television series, including the popular comedy show Idhar Udhar. Despite his success, Baswani remained unmarried and dedicated much of his later life to teaching acting at the Film and Television Institute of India. He passed away on July 27, 2010, from a heart attack while traveling to Delhi from Nainital.
