Rajkumar Santoshi was born on August 17, 1956, in Chennai, India. He is a prominent Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter known for his influential work in Hindi cinema. Santoshi is the son of P. L. Santoshi, a well-known producer-director. He moved to Mumbai at the age of five and began his career as an assistant director before making his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed film "Ghayal" in 1990. This film not only established him as a significant filmmaker but also earned him several awards, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film and the Filmfare Award for Best Director. Santoshi is married to Manila Santoshi, and they have two children, Ram and Tanisha.
