Rajesh Khanna

Rajesh Khanna, born Jatin Khanna on December 29, 1942, in Amritsar, Punjab, India, was an iconic Indian actor, film producer, and politician. He was adopted and raised by Chunnilal and Leelawati Khanna in Mumbai. Khanna attended St. Sebastian's Goan High School and later pursued his education at Nowrosjee Wadia College in Pune and K. C. College in Mumbai. In March 1973, he married actress Dimple Kapadia, and the couple had two daughters, Twinkle and Rinke Khanna. They separated in 1982 but remained legally married. Khanna passed away on July 18, 2012, in Mumbai. 

In addition to his illustrious film career, Khanna was active in politics. He served as a Member of Parliament for the Indian National Congress from the New Delhi constituency between 1992 and 1996. His immense contribution to Indian cinema and his charismatic screen presence earned him the title of the "First Superstar" of Hindi cinema.
