Rajendra Kumar, born on July 20, 1929, was a celebrated Indian film actor and producer, revered for his extensive contribution to Hindi cinema. Fondly known as "Jubilee Kumar," his films consistently celebrated silver and golden jubilees, making him one of the most bankable stars of the 1960s and 1970s. Rajendra Kumar's journey in Bollywood began with the 1950 film Jogan, but his breakthrough came with Mother India (1957). Over his illustrious career, he starred in numerous successful films such as Dhool Ka Phool (1959), Gharana (1961), Sangam (1964), Arzoo (1965), and Suraj (1966). Known for his romantic roles and melodious music, Rajendra Kumar's films resonated with audiences across generations. Besides acting, he ventured into film production, launching his son Kumar Gaurav in the hit film Love Story (1981). His contributions to Indian cinema earned him several accolades, including the Padma Shri in 1969. Rajendra Kumar passed away on July 12, 1999, leaving behind a legacy of timeless films and an indelible mark on Bollywood.
