Rajat Barmecha was born on April 24, 1989, in Ladnun, Rajasthan, and later moved to Delhi where he grew up. He completed his education at Bal Bharati Public School in Brij Vihar, Delhi. Rajat has always had a passion for acting, supported by his father, Narendra Barmecha, a businessman, and his mother, Shanti Barmecha, an entrepreneur. He has two siblings: Ritu Barmecha, an actress, and Vicky Barmecha, a film director. Rajat is currently unmarried and focused on his career in the entertainment industry. He is known for his love of solo travel and has a keen interest in writing and fitness.

Rajat Barmecha's film career began with his acclaimed role as Rohan in the 2010 film Udaan, which earned him significant recognition and several award nominations, including for Most Promising Newcomer at the Screen Awards. Following this success, he made a cameo appearance in the 2011 film Shaitan and starred in various short films like Gulmohar and The Finish Line. He has also ventured into web series, appearing in Girl In The City and Hey Prabhu! from 2019 to 2021. His recent works include the 2022 film Kacchey Limbu and the web series Love Lust and Confusion.
