Raj Kapoor, born Shrishti Nath Kapoor on December 14, 1924, in Peshawar, British India (now in Pakistan), was a prominent Indian actor, producer, and director. He hailed from the illustrious Kapoor family, being the eldest son of actor Prithviraj Kapoor and Ramsarni Devi Kapoor. In 1946, Raj Kapoor married Krishna Malhotra, with whom he had three sons—Randhir, Rishi, and Rajiv—and two daughters, Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain. He passed away on June 2, 1988, in New Delhi, India.
