Raj Babbar was born on June 23, 1952, in Tundla, Uttar Pradesh, India. He comes from a Punjabi family and completed his education at the National School of Drama in New Delhi. Babbar began his acting career in the late 1970s and gained fame for his roles in films such as "Insaaf Ka Taraazu" (1980) and "Nikaah" (1982). He is also known for his significant contributions to Indian politics, having served multiple terms as a Member of Parliament. Raj Babbar has been married twice; his first marriage was to Nadira Babbar (1975-1983), with whom he has two children. He later married actress Smita Patil, who passed away in 1986, and they had one child together. Following Patil's death, he returned to Nadira. Currently, he is married to Nadira Babbar and has three children overall: Arya Babbar, Juhi Babbar, and Prateik Patil Babbar.
