Rahul Dholakia, born on June 15, 1972, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is a prominent Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter known for his impactful storytelling and exploration of social issues. He completed his education at Campion School and St. Xavier's College in Mumbai before pursuing a master's degree in filmmaking from the New York Institute of Technology. Dholakia began his career in the film industry by working on documentaries and commercials, including projects about immigrant taxi drivers in New York.

Dholakia made his directorial debut with "Kehtaa Hai Dil Baar Baar" in 2002, which was notable for being the first Hindi feature film shot entirely in the USA. His acclaimed film "Parzania" (2005), based on the communal riots in Gujarat, won him the National Film Award for Best Direction. He continued to address pressing social themes with films like "Lamhaa" (2010), which delves into the Kashmir conflict, and "Raees" (2017), a commercial success that grossed over ₹300 crore worldwide.

In terms of personal life, Rahul Dholakia is married to actress and producer Anjali Dholakia. They have a son named Rohan. Dholakia is currently working on his upcoming film "Agni," set to release in 2024, which focuses on the lives of firefighters.
