Pooja Chopra was born on May 3, 1986, in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. Raised by her mother Neera Chopra after being abandoned by her father, she grew up in Mumbai alongside her older sister, Shubhra. Pooja attended Mount Carmel Convent High School and graduated from Ness Wadia College in Pune. She gained fame as the winner of the Femina Miss India World 2009 title and represented India at the Miss World 2009 pageant, where she became the first Indian to win the "Beauty with a Purpose" title. Pooja is known for her philanthropic efforts, particularly in supporting the Nanhi Kali project, which aids underprivileged girls.
