She hails from a middle-class family and has a strong connection to her roots, particularly her Bhojpuri heritage. Neetu completed her schooling at Notre Dame Academy in Patna and pursued higher education at Indraprastha College in New Delhi. She is a fourth Dan black belt in Taekwondo and has represented India in international competitions.
