Mita Vasisht, born on November 2, 1967, in Jatal Village, Pune, Maharashtra, India, is an accomplished Indian actress known for her versatile roles in film, television, and theatre. She hails from a middle-class family; her father, Captain Rajeshwar Dutt Vasisht, was a retired Colonel in the Indian Army, while her mother, Meenakshi Mehta Vasisht, was a teacher and musician. Mita pursued her education in literature at Punjab University, Chandigarh, before graduating from the National School of Drama in New Delhi in 1987. She is married to filmmaker Anup Singh. Mita is known for her involvement in social work and has worked with marginalized communities, including trafficked minors.
