Muhammad Kutty Panaparambil Ismail, known as Mammootty, was born on September 7, 1951, in Kottayam, Kerala, India. He is a prominent Indian actor and film producer primarily recognized for his work in Malayalam cinema, although he has also acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and English films. Mammootty's illustrious career spans over five decades and includes more than 420 films. He has received numerous accolades, including three National Film Awards and eleven Kerala State Film Awards. In 1998, he was honored with the Padma Shri for his contributions to Indian cinema. Mammootty is married to Sulfath, with whom he has two children: Surumi and actor Dulquer Salmaan. His younger brother, Ibrahimkutty, is also an actor.
