Mahima Chaudhry was born on September 13, 1973, making her 51 years old as of 2024[3]. She was previously married to architect Bobby Mukherji, but the couple separated in 2013.
Mahima Chaudhry, born as Ritu Chaudhry, is an Indian actress and model who predominantly worked in Hindi films during the 1990s and early 2000s. She was born in Darjeeling, India, to a Jat father from Uttar Pradesh and a Nepalese-origin mother. Chaudhry attended Dow Hill School in Kurseong until class 10 and later moved to Loreto Convent in Darjeeling.
Before venturing into films, Chaudhry did some modeling assignments and appeared in several television commercials, including a Pepsi ad alongside Aamir Khan and Aishwarya Rai in 1995. She made her acting debut in the 1997 film Pardes, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and a nomination for the Best Actress award.
Chaudhry established herself with several popular movies like Daag (1999), Dhadkan (2000), Kurukshetra (2000), Baghban (2003), and received critical acclaim for her performances in Dil Kya Kare (1999), Lajja (2001), and Dobara (2004), earning nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress.
In 2022, Chaudhry was diagnosed and successfully treated for breast cancer. She has been actively involved in political campaigns, supporting candidates from both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Trinamool Congress in the 2021 West Bengal elections.
