Kunaal Roy Kapur, born on February 13, 1979, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, is an Indian actor and director. He hails from a family with a rich cinematic background; his paternal grandfather, Raghupat Roy Kapur, was a film producer. His father, Kumud Roy Kapur, and mother, Salome Roy Kapur, a former Miss India and accomplished dancer, have significantly influenced his artistic inclinations. Kunaal is the middle sibling among three brothers: Siddharth Roy Kapur, a prominent film producer, and Aditya Roy Kapur, a well-known actor. In 2005, Kunaal married Shayonti Salvi, and the couple has two children, a son named Ishan and a daughter named Shaziyah.
