Kishore Kumar, born Abhas Kumar Ganguly on August 4, 1929, in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, India, was a multifaceted Indian playback singer, actor, lyricist, composer, and director. He came from a prominent family; his father was a lawyer and his mother hailed from a wealthy Bengali family. Kishore was the youngest of four siblings, with his elder brother being the famous actor Ashok Kumar. Throughout his life, he experienced several relationships and was married four times: first to Ruma Ghosh (1950-1958), then to the legendary actress Madhubala (1960 until her death in 1969), followed by Yogeeta Bali (1976-1978), and finally to Leena Chandavarkar (1980 until his death). Kishore Kumar passed away on October 13, 1987, leaving behind a rich legacy in Indian music and cinema.
