Kiran Karmarkar was born on May 2, 1958, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is a prominent Indian television, film, and theatre actor, best known for his role as Om Agarwal in the popular television series Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, which aired from 2000 to 2008 on Star Plus. Karmarkar began his acting journey in Marathi theatre and made his film debut in the Marathi movie Nishpaap. He gained significant recognition for his performance in Ghar Ek Mandir, which paved the way for his iconic role in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. After a hiatus from the show, he reprised his character due to changes in the storyline. Over the years, he has appeared in various television shows including Uttaran and Zindagi Mere Ghar Aana, and has also acted in numerous Marathi films. Karmarkar was previously married to actress Rinku Dhawan, who played his sister in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii; they divorced in 2017 after 15 years of marriage and have one son named Eshaan.
