Jyothika Saravanan, born on October 18, 1978, in Mumbai, India, is a prominent Indian actress and film producer known for her extensive work in Tamil cinema, as well as in Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi films. She began her acting career in 1998 with the Hindi film "Doli Saja Ke Rakhna," but it was her roles in Tamil films that garnered her significant acclaim. Jyothika has received numerous awards, including a National Film Award and multiple Filmfare Awards South. She is recognized for her versatile performances in films like "Vaali," "Kushi," "Chandramukhi," and "Mozhi." After a successful career, she took a hiatus following her marriage to actor Suriya in September 2006. The couple has two children. Jyothika made a remarkable comeback in 2015 with "36 Vayadhinile," which earned her the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress - South. She continues to star in women-centric films and is actively involved in philanthropy through the Agaram Foundation, which she co-founded with Suriya to support underprivileged children.
