Jisshu Sengupta was born on March 15, 1977, in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. He is an accomplished Indian actor, producer, and television presenter known for his work primarily in Bengali cinema, along with appearances in Hindi and Telugu films. Jisshu made his acting debut in the Bengali television series "Mahaprabhu," where he portrayed Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, gaining significant recognition. He transitioned to film with "Priyojon" in 1999, but it did not perform well at the box office. His career took a notable turn when he collaborated with acclaimed director Rituparno Ghosh, leading to critically acclaimed performances in films like "Abohomaan," "Noukadubi," and "Shob Charitro Kalponik." Over the years, Jisshu has become one of the most sought-after actors in Bengali cinema, known for his versatility and depth in roles. He has been married to Nilanjana Sharma since 2004 and they have two children.
