Jayasudha, born as Sujatha Nidudavolu on December 17, 1958, in Madras (now Chennai), Tamil Nadu, India, is a renowned Indian actress and politician. She hails from a family with a rich cinematic heritage; her mother, Joga Bai, was an actress, and her paternal aunt is the acclaimed actress and director Vijaya Nirmala. Jayasudha's paternal grandfather, Nidudavolu Venkatarao, was a distinguished scholar and literary historian. She was initially named Subadra, but her family soon changed it to Sujatha, feeling it was more contemporary. In 1985, she married producer Nitin Kapoor, a cousin of actor Jeetendra, and they had two sons, Nihar and Shreayan. Tragically, Nitin Kapoor passed away in 2017.
