Jaya Prada Nahata, born on April 3, 1962, in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, is a prominent Indian actress and politician. She was raised in a Telugu-speaking family; her father, Krishna Rao, was a film financier. Jaya Prada began her career in the film industry at a young age, initially making her mark in South Indian cinema before transitioning to Bollywood. Known for her beauty and acting prowess, she became a leading actress in the late 1970s and 1980s, starring in numerous films alongside icons like Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. In addition to her acting career, she entered politics in 1994, joining the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and later serving as a Member of Parliament from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. Jaya Prada is married to Srikanth Nahata, a film producer, since February 1986. They do not have biological children but adopted her sister's son, Siddhu, who is an actor in Tamil cinema.
