Jaya Bhaduri, born on April 9, 1948, in Jabalpur, India, is a renowned Indian actress and politician. She hails from a Bengali Hindu family, with her mother Indira Bhaduri and father Tarun Kumar Bhaduri, who was a writer and journalist. Jaya completed her education at St. Joseph's Convent School in Bhopal and later attended the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), where she graduated with a gold medal. She began her acting career at the age of 15 with the Bengali film "Mahanagar" and gained recognition in Bollywood with her role in "Guddi." Jaya married fellow actor Amitabh Bachchan on June 3, 1973, and they have two children: Shweta and Abhishek Bachchan. Throughout her career, she has received numerous accolades, including nine Filmfare Awards and the Padma Shri. Jaya has also served as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha since 2004, representing the Samajwadi Party.
